The debate over the best way to organise work remains a key topic in the business world. With the rise of remote working in the wake of the pandemic, many companies have adopted new working models, but what is really the best option?

Miguel Ángel Molina Martínez, CEO of Tomarial, analyzed this issue in the program The Afternoon with Marina from 99.9 Valencia Radio, where he presented his vision on the advantages and disadvantages of teleworking, face-to-face work and the hybrid model.

Teleworking: an exceptional solution or a talent retention strategy

According to Miguel Ángel Molina, teleworking is a modality that, from a regulatory point of view, is contemplated for exceptional situations such as pandemics, catastrophes or circumstances that prevent the movement of workers. Beyond these scenarios, he suggests that it can be useful for certain specific tasks, but should not be considered the general rule.

In his speech, he stressed that the key is not where the work is done, but that it is done efficiently. However, he warned that in many organizations teleworking is being used as a strategy to attract and retain talent rather than responding to a well-defined organizational culture. In his opinion, this can be problematic if it is not aligned with the company's objectives and needs.

The dilemma between flexibility and face-to-face work

There is currently a growing trend among employees to prioritize work flexibility over other factors such as salary or professional growth opportunities. This change in employee mentality has led many companies to consider adopting teleworking or the hybrid model as part of their structure.

Molina believes that each organization must evaluate whether it really believes in teleworking and whether it brings benefits to both the company and its clients. It is not just about following a trend, but about implementing a work strategy that guarantees both efficiency and employee satisfaction.

Perspectives from different sectors

The debate in The Afternoon with Marina The event also featured the participation of other experts who provided different points of view on the impact of teleworking in their respective areas. Among them were Juan Carlos García López, Managing Director of Sucesores de Leonardo; Jerónimo Franco, Doctor in Engineering; and Pilar Francés, Founder of Barcés Correduría.

During the conversation, the benefits that teleworking has brought to certain sectors since 2020 were addressed, allowing greater flexibility and efficiency in some activities. However, the importance of face-to-face work was also highlighted in key aspects such as the integration of new employees, adaptation to corporate culture and the reduction of uncertainty in onboarding processes.

The challenges posed by the hybrid model were also discussed. While it can offer the best of both worlds, if not implemented correctly it can lead to productivity issues and hinder team cohesion.
