Santiago Blanes Mompo, partner of tomarial and head of our Labor Area, has participated in the program The Lighthouse of La 8 Mediterráneo to explain the bases of the labor reform that was approved in 2012 and what the future labor reform that the central government wants to undertake may consist of.

The legislation that the central government has been negotiating for months includes the repeal of a large part of the labor regulation approved by the Popular Party in 2012. Santiago Blanes analyzes the double reading of the 2021 legislation: “At that time it gave tranquility to the business fabric, but, on the other hand, to the union side it seemed like a cut in the rights that they had fought for years ”.

Santiago Blanes has also analyzed what the qualification or repeal of the labor reform that the Executive wants to carry out may consist of. "The limitation of temporary employment is proposed, that is, that there is a maximum of 15% of temporary hiring in companies" and points out that "Spain has the highest rate of temporary employment in the European Union, to be more exact, we exceed in more than 11 points the average of the European Union in temporary contracts ”.
