The managing partner of Tomarial, Antonio Ballester Sanchéz and Daniel Soltice, director of International Relations of the firm, have participated in the China-Spain Forum, organized by the communication group Iberian Press and held telematically on December 15. The theme of the day was the great potential for economic and commercial collaboration between the two countries, as the newspaper Levante has collected. Tomarial has signed this year a collaboration agreement with the Chinese firm Jingsh to enhance its ability to advise investors in the Asian giant. The firm has a marked international vocation that has accelerated in recent months with the signing of alliances with international law firms.

The Forum was moderated by Alfonso Nogales, Product Director of Prensa Ibérica, with prominent participants: the Chinese Ambassador to Spain, Wu Haitao; the CEO of ICEX (Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade), María Peña; Han Shengjian, General Director of the Hainan Provincial Economic Development Office; Ramon Tejedor, general director of Aragón Exterior; Miguel López-Quesada, corporate director of Communication, Marketing and Human Resources of GESTAMP and Feng Xubin, president of Yiwu Timex Inversión Industrial.  

Especially noteworthy was the video presentation and monitoring of the Hainan Free Trade Port, which is a very important and growing port, which will allow free entry into China of goods, zero tariffs, low tax rates, deduction of the 100 percent for capital spending, safe and orderly data flow, overseas tax-free shopping, and a maximum income tax of 15 percent for individuals and businesses. The free flow of people and entry without a visa was also highlighted, not only for foreigners. China is seeing tremendous growth in a high-consuming middle class, who travel there not only for business, but also for vacation outings.

Ramon Tejedor explained how Aragon aspires to be the export platform to China from Spain. Several Chinese delegations have visited Aragon and important agreements have been signed.

GESTMAP is currently a very active company in China, in the area of ​​auto parts manufacturing. China has become very important in new sectors of the automotive industry, for example electric vehicles. Manuel García pointed out that 40% of its export this year has been to China, with China being a very important partner for the pork industry, with an important culture of consumption of pork, both fresh and cured. The Chinese market is strategic for Spain, with the exponential increase in the middle class. Han Shengjian has requested INTERPORC's collaboration to allow their products to enter Hainan Island.

On the part of ICEX, María Peña stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, especially economic relations in the private sector, with China, and mentioned a growth rate of 20%. Especially noteworthy is the 70% increase in the export of cosmetics, and the main product of Spain, products derived from pork. He affirmed that China is the country where today there is more investment activity, and great opportunities for Spanish companies to establish themselves in China.
