On May 14, 2026, Tomarial Abogados held a meeting at its Valencia office aimed at companies, entrepreneurs and professionals, with the objective of sharing some of the main current trends in tax, legal and labor matters.
The event, held at Tomarial's headquarters, combined a professional analysis session with a close and exclusive format, which later continued with a cocktail and wine tasting at Bodegas Albarizas.
A meeting to share knowledge and closeness
The event began with a brief welcome from Tomarial's partners, highlighting the importance of supporting companies in an increasingly demanding and changing regulatory environment.
One of the central blocks of the day was dedicated to the main tax developments and trends of 2026, presented by Miguel Ángel Molina, partner of the Tax Area and CEO of Tomarial.
Among the topics discussed, the 2025 Income Tax Campaign stood out, particularly regarding the activation of new assistance services, telephone tax preparation, and support in small municipalities. Issues related to security against digital fraud were also addressed, such as phishing and smishing attempts that impersonate communications from the Tax Agency.
Reference was also made to the management of refunds to mutual members and the application of new deductions in the IRPF, including those related to low incomes from work, electric vehicles, renewable self-consumption and certain regional deductions in areas such as health and sport.
Regulatory reforms and new control criteria
The session also provided an opportunity to analyze some recent regulatory reforms and their practical impact on businesses and taxpayers.
They highlighted the publication of Royal Decree-Law 10/2026, with urgent tax measures linked to emergency situations, as well as the consolidation of the figure of corrective self-assessments in the General Tax Law, aimed at facilitating certain corrections by taxpayers.
Another relevant point was the evolution of administrative and jurisprudential criteria in matters such as Wealth Tax and VAT, especially in relation to the rectification of unduly passed-on fees.
In the area of tax control, the focus was on the growing digitalization of the Administration and the use of technological tools to combat tax evasion, false invoices and other risks associated with the digital economy.
Addressing issues such as VERIFACTU and electronic invoicing, two elements that will significantly shape the administrative and tax management of companies in the coming years.
International trends were also discussed, such as environmental taxation within the European Union and the implementation of global minimum tax measures for multinational corporations. Particular emphasis was placed on the increased scrutiny by the Spanish Tax Agency over certain corporate restructuring operations, especially the formation of holding companies by individuals.
